Wednesday, November 24 2010 was a huge day here.  Roger arrived home!  We are all so excited.  He called me from the hospital about 9:30AM in tears and said that he was “FREE”. The best words I’ve heard out of him in months.  I arrived about 10:30 to a very anxious almost to be ex-patient.  [...]

Roger’s week started out a little rough with the news that the antibiotics that he’s taking is not approved by the insurance company for home use.  He called me in tears and was so disappointed as he was really looking forward to getting out of the hospital and home.  I told him that he needed [...]

The weekend proved to be a good one for Roger.  He continues his up hill trek and is moving closer to the exit sign of the hospital.  On Saturday, I stopped by to drop off his 3rd bag of Cheetos (he’s going to turn into one) and the Snicker bars he’d requested as well.  In addition, [...]

Roger’s one step closer to home. The procedure to replace the drain tube and bag from the liver was completed with success yesterday morning.  This is a smaller and more manageable drain that will be better for him at home. I talked with him yesterday afternoon and he sounded really good.  He said he was [...]
